About the event

The Factory Luxe is proud to host an evening of Indie Punk & Alt. Rock for FRIDAY of Independant Venue Week from local groups...

Wilting:

The music is a collaborative effort that reflects the band’s non-hierarchical structure. There is no leader and everyone brings ideas that become the kindling for songs and together  stoke the flames of creativity.

Shelbyville:

Shelbyville, the pop-punk/alt-rock fellas Michael Engler (vocals, guitar), Alex Lowe (bass) and Patrick Toney (drums), began in 2020 inside a dank practice space in the infamous Crybaby Studios in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

In quarantine, the band recorded their debut EP Glow Up and full-length album TOMFOOLERY all before setting foot on stage. Engler, 27, is the primary songwriter. His baritone voice sings (and screams) of friendships gone awry and feelings of inadequacy over tracks reminiscent of The Sex Pistols or Nirvana. Lowe, Toney, and local producer Timothy Robert Graham championed Engler, bringing his long-held musical dreams to fruition on the recordings.

Late 2021, Shelbyville took the stage fully formed, and shared that stowed energy of up-tempo pop-punk into a crowd who was pleasantly surprised to hear it was their first performance.

Shelbyville is currently sharing live videos of their recent TOMFOOLERY release show, filmed live at Barboza.

Plash:

Plash is a new math rock trio from the crawlspace soundstudios of Seattle that incorporate tangled vocal harmonies over stacked chords and rhythms. Jeseul Oh (guitar), Frederick Kim (bass), and Bennett Park (drums) bring you a live experience that is introspective but never moody. With lyrics interwoven in English and Korean, Plash has the raw sound to saturate large venues and a melodic touch delicate enough to suit even the most intimate of basements.

The Factory Luxe is a proud partisipant of Independant Venue Week 2022 !!

Over 300 independent venues take part in the annual celebration across all 50 states in the US—and the number keeps growing every year. No matter where you are in the U.S., there is an independent venue nearby.

Independent Venue Week annually brings together venues all over the country, celebrating the spirit of independence with a nationwide series of venue-curated programming. It’s a unique live music event with a national impact, but a completely local feel — all to power American independents.
